MEET THE SWEET BLOSSOM DESIGNS FAMILY
TARA WHEATON | OWNER, LEAD FLORAL DESIGNER, PLANNER AND COORDINATOR
A high school experience decorating Rose Parade Floats is when Tara walked into the "Rose Tent" where thousands of Roses were kept, this is where she found her love for flowers. A marriage, two children and a career in the medical field later Tara found herself again with her first love of flowers, working at Von's as a "Green House Manager". Learning all she could about Floral Design, Customer Service and Budgets. She went out on her own and created Megan's Garden in 1992. A small boutique Floral Design company that served local San Diego and Orange County Clients. After two more children and a move back up to Orange County she changed the name to Sweet Blossom Designs to serve their growing clientele and staff. She loves working with flowers, clients and other vendors to create the most perfect celebrations whether it is a Wedding, a Corporate Event, a Birthday Party or a Celebration of life.
Her favorite flower is the fragrant Paper Whites.
MARK WHEATON | LEAD CARPENTER, and DESIGNER
Mark does it all!! He builds beautiful custom Wedding Arches and Chuppahs and other custom details like Hanging Flower Installations and Donut Walls or Seating Charts. He hangs Market Lights and sets up all aspects of Ceremonies and Receptions. He is THE guy you look for if you need an answer. He makes our clients wild and crazy design ideas become a reality for them. With over 45 years in construction as a carpenter, electrician and plumber to work with we know he has it covered.
His favorite flower is the delicate Gardenia
TARA AND MARK HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 37 YEARS They have four amazing kids, two lovely kids in law and two perfect grandsons. Mission Viejo has been home for the past 54 years.
MEGAN IRWIN | LEAD PLANNER, & COORDINATOR. LEAD FLORAL DESIGNER AND CLIENT COORDINATOR
Megan is an invaluable part of our team. She has stepped gracefully into the role as Lead Planner and Coordinator as well as a natural talent as Lead Floral Designer. Her attention to detail and quick thinking helps all our couples have everything they need to have a stress free and beautiful Wedding Day. She is dedicated to making sure every detail is taken care of and that you have the Wedding Day you dreamed of.
DEREK IRWIN | MAGICIAN

MEGAN & DEREK HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR ALMOST 6 YEARS and are parents to the newest (and cutest) member of our Sweet Blossom Team while awaiting their second child later this year. Rancho Santa Margarita is where your can find them.
DEVON SMITH | LEAD FLORAL DESIGNER, & PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
After working with her Sister Tara for the last 30 years, Devon still calls Floral Design her side hustle, while working during the week as an Oral Surgeon Assistant. But Devon is the most valuable player on the Wedding Day. Event after event arranging countless Centerpieces with her own sense of style and design, making sure Ceremonies are ready to go down to the last stray petal on the ground. She specializes in Ceremony and Aisle Design and is highly aware of what is going on around her and what the Lead Designer and Clients needs are and how to best serve them on the day of the event. She is the hardest worker and can answer any question you might have.
Her favorite flower is a perfect Peach Ball Dahlia.
CHRIS SMITH | DESIGNER, PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Chris plays an integral part of our set up team, keeping us on our schedule and assisting with in field design, specializing in Ceremony Design and our occasional truck driver. He has a great eye for details and is a great protector or our Clients and their Guests and liaison with other vendors and venues. No favorite flower for him, but he can talk to you all day about fishing.
His Motto is “No flower gets left behind”
DEVON AND CHRIS HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 27 YEARS They have one beautiful and big hearted daughter who puts in an appearance every once in awhile. Rancho Santa Margarita is home to them.
JASON MOORE | PRODUCTION ASSISTANT, BARTENDER, SECURITY AND THE IT GUY
RILEY MOORE | PRODUCTION ASSISTANT AND GO GET IT GUY
Not new to the Sweet Blossom Team is Jason, we have come to rely on him to help us load up, drive the truck and set up the BIG events. Not only can he lift our heaviest centerpiece on top of a tall glass vase, you can also find him carefully placing Rosemary at each place setting. We also hire out Jason as a Bartender and Security when needed. He is also our un-official tech guy and helps make sure things just work. He truly has a servants heart. The best Dad to Jolie and Riley.
Riley has become our go get it guy, working at whatever we ask of him. He quietly gets it done and then comes back to see what he can do next. We are always glad when he is around.

SARAH ABBOT | LEAD FLORAL DESIGNER & WEDDING COORDINATOR
Sarah is amazing! Coming in to help us out a few times and ended up being not only thee fastest learner of what we do, but someone we can’t do without.
I am excited to see everything Sarah does as an artist she brings her talent and energy to everything she does designing beautiful centerpieces, bouquets and large scale arrangements.
KYLIE MOOREFIELD | FLORAL DESIGNER & PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Kylie joined our team this year and we see big things in her future. She is detailed oriented and is always one step ahead and looking for ways to make every event better.
She has a natural talent for designing and staging events as well the ability to see what needs to be done to make sure each event is beautiful and successful.
We are excited to see all that she does in 2023
